With fresh fish and shellfish arriving daily throughout the week (weather permitting), we try to have a large range available all year round. As well as fresh fish and shellfish, we also have an extensive range of Italian Pasta’s, Risotto Rice, Luxury Oils, Fresh Parsley, Lemons, Samphire, Condiments, Cooking Sauces, Morecombe Bay Potted Shrimp, Mackerel Pate, Salmon Terrine, Cornish Seaweed, Jarred Mussels, Cockles, Roll Mops….. The list goes on.
We are lucky enough to have suppliers from Newlyn Markets and Looe Harbour in Cornwall. Our preference of fish, wherever possible, is always day boat fish. We are passionate about letting our customers know which boat their fish has come from. Knowing the story from sea to plate is something that more and more people are interested in. So on our counter, we will display the names of the boats that we have bought from.
Some fish do have their seasons, some are available all year round. There are many factors to consider when stocking fresh fish and we never know what is going to be landed from one day to the next so it’s always quite exciting finding out what we can display on our counter. The counter displays that Jon creates are stunning. In fact, after his Champion title for displays in 2019, he was also awarded Winner of the MFS (Master Fishmonger Standard) Fish Counter Awards. They said “This counter impressed the panel, with it’s beautiful layout, extensive range of seafood and adherence to food safety standards. Bravo!” Another proud moment for us!
